Publish LinkedIn Posts via a Webhook—Text, Images (up to 20), or Native Video
Want to send a message to LinkedIn automatically? This n8n workflow exposes a webhook endpoint that accepts your post text and media URLs, then publishes the post to LinkedIn—returning the created public LinkedIn post URL (or an error if LinkedIn rejects it).
What this workflow does
-
Receives a POST webhook request with required post text plus either:
- an array of image URLs (up to 20 images), or
- a single video URL.
- Validates and normalizes input, including the required text and the LinkedIn author ID / person URN, and enforces mutual exclusivity between images vs video.
- Video path (native video): registers a LinkedIn video upload, downloads the video from your URL, uploads it to LinkedIn, and creates a public video post using the LinkedIn UGC APIs.
- Image path (single or multi-image): registers image uploads, downloads each provided image, uploads them to LinkedIn, and creates a posts payload for single-image or multi-image posts using the LinkedIn Posts API.
- Text-only path: if no media is provided, publishes a text-only LinkedIn post.
- Returns the result: extracts the created post URN from response headers and replies with the public LinkedIn post URL.
Use cases
- Automatically publish campaign updates from an internal system by calling the n8n webhook.
- Turn content queued in your app into LinkedIn posts with image carousels or native video.
- Batch-generate LinkedIn posts from SaaS workflows while centralizing media handling and publishing.
Technical details
- n8n nodes used: webhook, if, set, code, http request, and sticky note.
- LinkedIn setup: create a LinkedIn app with Share on LinkedIn, then add an OAuth2 credential in n8n with permissions such as w_member_social.
- Configuration: set your LinkedIn person ID in the workflow’s settings.
