Publish YouTube Videos with OpenAI-Generated Titles & MP4 Upload (n8n)
Turn a simple video topic and a direct MP4 link into a fully prepared YouTube upload—complete with an AI-generated, YouTube-ready title and description using OpenAI, all orchestrated in n8n.
What this workflow does
- Manual trigger: Start the workflow whenever you’re ready to publish.
- Collect inputs: Provide a public MP4 URL and a short video topic description.
- Generate YouTube metadata with OpenAI: Send the topic to OpenAI to produce a JSON response containing a YouTube-optimized title, a description, and three hashtags.
- Download and prepare the video: The workflow downloads the MP4 file from your provided URL.
- Upload to YouTube: Upload the downloaded MP4 to YouTube using the generated metadata, with Private visibility for testing.
Use cases
- Content repurposing: Convert a topic + MP4 source into consistent YouTube metadata without manual writing.
- SaaS marketing teams: Quickly publish product explainers or updates while keeping uploads private during review.
- Automation engineers: Use an example n8n workflow pattern combining OpenAI, HTTP, and YouTube upload.
- Solo creators: Standardize titles, descriptions, and hashtags for faster publishing workflows.
Technical details
- Nodes / components: Manual Trigger, Set, Code, HTTP Request, YouTube, Sticky Note.
- Integrations: OpenAI credential for metadata generation and YouTube OAuth2 credential for video uploads.
- Requirements: A direct, publicly accessible MP4 URL.
For setup, add your OpenAI and YouTube OAuth2 credentials, replace source_url, and adjust YouTube settings (privacy, category, region). Uploads are set to Private while testing.
