Run a fast 10-point SEO audit from an n8n webhook—and get a ready-to-share HTML report instantly
This n8n workflow exposes a GET webhook that takes a website URL, fetches the page, checks 10 key SEO elements, calculates a score out of 100, and returns a polished HTML audit report in the webhook response.
What this workflow does
- Receives a GET request on the site-check endpoint with a url query parameter.
- Validates and normalizes the input to allow only public domain URLs (no IPs, localhost, or internal TLDs).
- Fetches the target page via an HTTP request using a custom User-Agent and an 8-second timeout.
- Parses the returned HTML and runs a 10-point SEO checklist, including:
- Reachability/response time, HTTPS, title length, meta description, viewport tag, single H1, image alt coverage
- Open Graph image, HTML lang attribute, and page size
- Builds a simple HTML report with the overall score and pass/fail results for each check.
- Responds with text/html content type containing the generated report.
Use cases
- Quick SEO health checks for client or internal landing pages without manually reviewing HTML.
- Embed an SEO audit into your SaaS ops or QA process using an API-style webhook call.
- Monitor SEO basics before publishing updates: title/meta/OG tags, H1 structure, accessibility alt text, and more.
Technical details
- n8n nodes: Webhook, Code, HTTP Request, Respond to Webhook (plus notes/stickies).
- Endpoint: site-check
- Input:
?url=yourdomain.com(supports addinghttps://) - No credentials or API keys required
Setup: Activate the workflow, copy the production webhook URL, and call it with a publicly reachable page. Adjust scoring thresholds, checks, timeout, and User-Agent if needed.
