Schedule Google Sheets social posts only after exact human approval—powered by n8n + Blotato
This n8n workflow reads your approved social-post drafts from Google Sheets and schedules them via Blotato after an authenticated reviewer confirms the exact text, image (if provided), destination, and UTC-normalized timestamp. It also tracks results back to your sheet—without blindly repeating uncertain publications.
What this workflow does
- Validates incoming jobs: Reads a bounded SchedulerQueue and its authoritative native data table, rejecting duplicate job IDs, malformed dates, unsupported destinations, and changes to an already registered brief.
- Normalizes schedule time safely: Converts requested, timezone-aware timestamps to UTC to avoid scheduling drift.
- Handles optional images securely: If an image is provided, downloads an allowlisted HTTPS PNG or JPEG, saves its byte hash, and ties scheduling to that immutable content reference.
- Requires human approval based on saved content: An authenticated n8n reviewer loads the exact text, destination settings, UTC timestamp, and the stored image hash/version. A Sheet permission flag alone cannot authorize submission.
- Submits with guarded intent: The worker verifies the approved image again and stores an exclusive request intent using compare-and-swap conditions before submitting one destination with scheduledTime.
- Stores and reconciles scheduling outcomes: Saves each returned postSubmissionId. It reports “published” only after the provider confirms. Lost/uncertain responses trigger authenticated reconciliation using the verified original submission ID instead of automatic POST retries.
Use cases
- Automation engineers who need timezone-correct social scheduling with an approval gate.
- SaaS operators managing multiple destination accounts where duplicate or changed briefs must be rejected.
- Teams that require content-hash based approval (text + image) before any Blotato scheduling happens.
Technical details
- Designed for n8n automation using nodes such as if, set, code, form, switch, and no op.
- Integrates with Google Sheets for input/output mirroring and uses Blotato for scheduling and publication confirmation.
