Searchbug People Search API → Google Sheets via n8n Form

Turn an n8n Form submission into Google Sheets results with the Searchbug People Search API

This n8n automation workflow captures a person’s name and location from an n8n Form, searches the Searchbug People Search API for matching people, normalizes the results into clean fields, and appends one row per match into Google Sheets.

What this workflow does

• Receives form data from an n8n Form: first name, last name, optional middle name, optional city, and a required US state.
• Builds search parameters from the submitted values and sends an HTTP request to the Searchbug People Search API.
• Normalizes the API response by converting single-or-multiple fields into arrays and extracting key profile attributes (including address, phone, email, relatives, and more).
• Outputs structured items: either one item per matching person, or a single “No results found” row.
• Appends results to Google Sheets, adding each match as a new row in your selected tab.

Technical details

• Nodes/stack: set, code, sticky note, form trigger, http request, google sheets.
• API authentication: provide Searchbug credentials via CO_CODE and PASS query parameters in the HTTP Request configuration.
• Google Sheets integration: use Google Sheets OAuth, then update the spreadsheet document ID and tab name.
• Required sheet headers: configure columns to match the appended fields (for example: reportID, fullName, firstName, middleName, lastName, DOB, currentAge, deceased, SSN, primaryAddress, city, state, zip, primaryPhone, allPhones, allEmails, relatives, driversLicenseNumbers, bankruptcies, liens, judgements, reportToken).
