Send Contact Form Emails + Optional Auto-Reply Using an n8n SMTP Webhook

Turn website contact submissions into real emails—then (optionally) confirm receipt to the visitor automatically. This n8n workflow receives messages from an n8n Form or an HTML webhook, filters out likely bots, sends your inbox notification via SMTP, and can send a short reply email back to the sender.

What this workflow does

• Receives contact submissions from either an n8n Form trigger or a Webhook endpoint (POST request).
• Normalizes input fields into a consistent structure: name, email, message, plus a hidden “website” honeypot field.
• Filters invalid/bot entries by dropping requests where the honeypot field is filled and by ignoring submissions that are missing an email address.
• Sends an owner notification email via SMTP with the visitor’s details to your configured inbox. The workflow sets Reply-To to the visitor’s email so you can respond directly.
• Optionally sends an auto-reply to the visitor via SMTP to confirm their message was received.

Setup tip: Configure SMTP once for both email-sending steps, set your notification recipient fields (To/From/subjects), and if using your own HTML form, post name, email, message, plus an empty hidden website honeypot field to the Webhook Production URL.
