Shopify New Product Video Ads with OpenAI & n8n Workflow

Turn every new Shopify product into a 5-second motion video—automatically

This n8n workflow detects newly created Shopify products, uses OpenAI to generate a motion prompt, creates a Sisif video from your product image, and then attaches the resulting MP4 to the product in Shopify. If anything fails, it automatically falls back to Google Drive and reports the outcome in Slack.

What this workflow does

• Triggers on new products in Shopify and extracts the product title, type, description, and the main image URL.
• Validates the image URL and skips processing if the main image does not have a HTTPS URL.
• Generates a Sisif-ready prompt with OpenAI based on the product details, then sends the prompt + image URL to Sisif to start video generation.
• Polls Sisif every 30 seconds until the render is READY, stops on ERROR/REFUNDED, or times out after 40 checks.
• Attaches the MP4 to Shopify when ready by downloading the video, requesting a Shopify staged upload target via the Admin GraphQL API, uploading the file, and updating the product media.
• Fails over to Google Drive if Shopify upload/attach fails (downloads the MP4 and uploads it to Google Drive).
• Reports results in Slack: video attached in Shopify, saved to Google Drive, or failed/timed out during rendering.
