The Shopify Recall Checker n8n workflow runs every morning to compare your Shopify catalog against recent CPSC and FDA recalls. It uses OpenAI to verify likely matches, then posts Slack alerts and logs results to Google Sheets—with an optional step to set high-confidence listings to DRAFT in Shopify.

What this workflow does

• Daily run at 8am to keep recall monitoring timely.
• Pulls products from Shopify and fetches recent recall data from the CPSC recall API and FDA enforcement APIs (food, drug, and medical device recalls).
• Reads the Google Sheets “Recall log” tab to skip recalls already processed, then normalizes new recalls into a consistent format.
• Shortlists candidates by scoring recalls against your Shopify products using UPC/barcode matches, vendor/brand names, and shared product keywords.
• Sends shortlisted candidates to OpenAI to determine whether each candidate is truly affected, returning a confidence score, a lot/batch check flag, and a recommended action.
• Posts Slack alerts for confirmed matches above your confidence threshold and appends a detailed row to the Google Sheets “Matches” tab.
• Optionally sets confirmed, high-confidence active listings to DRAFT in Shopify via the Admin GraphQL API, and posts a daily summary.
