Stream Pre-Recorded Videos to YouTube Live from an n8n Form—Automatically
This n8n workflow lets you collect a video URL and YouTube Live stream details via a form, then imports the video into LiveReacting and creates (or schedules) a YouTube Live stream through your connected LiveReacting YouTube destination. No manual importing or scheduling steps.
What this workflow does
- Receives form input (video link, stream title, YouTube visibility, and an optional start time).
- Validates and matches your destination by calling the LiveReacting API, listing available destinations, matching the configured YouTube channel name, and validating the start time format when provided.
- Imports the provided video URL into LiveReacting and polls until the import finishes or fails.
- Ensures the file is stream-ready by fetching imported file metadata and requesting encoding when required, then waiting until the media becomes ready to stream.
- Creates the LiveReacting project + scene, adds the video as a playlist layer, and then either starts streaming immediately or schedules the YouTube Live stream at your requested time.
Use cases
- Turn webinar replays or recorded sessions into scheduled YouTube Live streams using a simple n8n form.
- Run repeat live broadcasts from a library of video links while keeping stream titles and visibility consistent.
- SaaS operators and automation engineers streamline media prep and YouTube Live creation using n8n + LiveReacting.
Technical details (n8n workflow)
- Form Trigger to collect video link and stream parameters.
- HTTP Request steps with LiveReacting API using HTTP Bearer Auth.
- Core logic nodes: if, set, wait, and a sticky note for guidance.
- Workflow settings include the correct LiveReacting YouTube destination name (as shown in LiveReacting Studio) and your preferred time zone.
Note: You’ll need a LiveReacting account with API access, and your YouTube channel connected as a LiveReacting destination.
