Visualize Single Points of Failure in your supply chain—automatically, every week
This n8n workflow pulls supplier, material, plant, and logistics master data from Google Sheets, builds a supplier–material–plant–logistics graph, scores SPOF risk using a VaR proxy, and publishes an executive risk brief (via Groq) to Notion—plus updates in Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, and a Sheets run log.
What this workflow does
- Runs on a schedule: Executes every Monday at 08:00, setting run configuration such as the VaR threshold, SPOF count threshold, alert email list, and a unique run ID.
- Ingests master data: Reads the Suppliers, Materials, Logistics, and Plants tabs from Google Sheets and combines the datasets.
- Builds a supply-chain SPOF graph: Validates the presence of supplier/material data, normalizes rows into nodes and edges, and scores single points of failure plus an overall severity using a VaR proxy.
- Handles data issues: If no usable data/graph is produced, posts a failure message to Slack describing what to fix.
- Generates a risk brief with Groq: Sends scored results to a Groq-powered agent, parses the returned JSON, and extracts an executive summary, top SPOFs, and mitigations.
- Publishes results: Renders an SVG risk map, uploads it to Google Drive, and creates a Notion database page with metrics, summary, mitigations, and the graph link.
- Alerts when needed: If alert-worthy, posts to Slack, emails a Gmail digest, and appends the outcome to a Google Sheets runlogs tab.
Use cases
- Weekly internal reporting for supply chain risk visualization and SPOF governance.
- Automation engineers needing an end-to-end workflow from Sheets data to Notion publishing.
- SaaS operators monitoring supplier risk trends with consistent scoring and audit trails.
Technical details
- Scheduling: n8n cron (Monday 08:00) with run configuration (VaR and SPOF thresholds, run ID).
- Integrations: Google Sheets, Google Drive, Notion, Slack, Gmail, and an LLM agent via Groq.
