Turn Telegram requests into automated video edits, clips, dubbing, and transcripts—end to end with n8n
This n8n workflow listens to your Telegram bot messages, interprets what the user wants using OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini), starts the appropriate Renderster media job, and then sends the finished result back to Telegram—while logging each job in Google Sheets.
What this workflow does
- Receives Telegram messages and extracts the chat ID, message text/caption, file ID (for attachments), and any provided URL.
- Enforces an allowlist: if the chat ID is not authorized, it replies with instructions to add the chat ID.
- Understands the request with OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini), producing a structured action such as auto edit, clips, dub, transcript, or help.
- If the request is help—or no video/link is provided—the workflow sends a Telegram help message. Otherwise, it builds Renderster job options from the parsed request.
- Starts a Renderster /media job by either downloading the attached Telegram video and uploading it, or using the provided link.
- Waits for completion via webhook callback and periodic status checks, then retrieves final status and results.
- Delivers outputs back to Telegram (uploads finished videos up to Telegram’s limit; otherwise sends a light copy or a link) and logs job details to Google Sheets.
- Handles failures by posting an error message to Telegram if the Renderster job fails.
Use cases
- Let creators type “clip highlights” or “dub this in Spanish” in Telegram and receive the processed video automatically.
- Route internal video requests from Telegram to Renderster for consistent editing/clipping/transcription.
- Provide a help-driven interface in Telegram when users forget to attach a video or include a link.
