Track Google Ads competitors automatically—then get a weekly Slack digest

This n8n workflow checks the Google Ads Transparency Center every Monday, pulls what your competitors are currently running, and sends a single weekly digest to Slack ranked by how long each creative has been live.

What this workflow does

  • Runs on a schedule every Monday at 07:00.
  • Builds your monitoring list of competitors and target markets (two-letter region codes), including the Apify actor configuration and a lookback window.
  • Fetches live competitor ads for each competitor/region pair using Apify and the Google Ads Transparency Center data.
  • Deduplicates results, counts any competitor fetch failures, and ranks creatives by days running.
  • Highlights creatives started within your lookback window, so new launches stand out.
  • Sends one grouped Slack message containing Transparency Center links for each ad, plus notes for any competitor reads that failed.
  • Ends quietly if no ads (and no failures) are returned.

Use cases

  • Competitive intelligence teams who want a consistent Google Ads competitor monitoring report without manual checking.
  • SaaS operators and growth teams tracking new ad creatives by market and time-to-live.
  • Automation engineers building a lightweight Google Ads Transparency Center → Slack reporting pipeline in n8n.

Technical details

  • Apify integration via the community node @apify/n8n-nodes-apify (requires a self-hosted n8n instance).
  • Uses Slack to post the digest to your selected channel (e.g., #competitive).
  • Workflow logic includes nodes such as if, code, and no op, plus an Apify node and supporting steps (e.g., sticky note/documentation).

Update the competitor list (domain, advertiser ID, or name), regions, maxResults, and the lookback window to fit your tracking needs.
