Need to submit an existing invoice PDF to bimetrics and keep your team updated on whether OCR is finished? This n8n workflow uploads your PDF to the Bimetrics Document API, then polls the processing status every 5 seconds—returning the document ID, outcome, and next step.

What this workflow does

• Starts manually when you run the workflow in n8n.
• Validates inputs (configured filePath, fileName, and sourceDocumentId), then reads the invoice PDF from the n8n server.
• Uploads the PDF to Bimetrics using multipart form data via the Bimetrics Document API, extracting the returned document ID.
• Checks OCR processing status by requesting document details from the Bimetrics API.
• Polls repeatedly every 5 seconds while the status is pending/processing, up to 6 checks.
• Returns results to your n8n execution output: document ID, latest status, number of status requests, an outcome (processed, quota_paused, processing_failed, or poll_limit_reached), and a suggested next step.

A completed n8n execution does not automatically mean the invoice data or a booking has been approved.
