This n8n workflow automatically takes the dataset from each successful Apify Actor run and writes it to Google Sheets using Apify’s Google Sheets Export Actor—with append, replace, or upsert support and no Google OAuth configuration inside n8n.

What this workflow does

• Triggers on successful Apify runs: It starts when a selected Apify Actor run succeeds (or you can run a manual test using the last successful execution).
• Fetches last successful run details (for testing): In the “test path,” it retrieves the last successful run information.
• Extracts the dataset ID: From the run details, it determines the dataset to export.
• Configures the Google Sheets export: You set the Google Sheet URL/ID, tab name, write mode (append/replace/upsert), and upsert keyColumns (e.g., ["url"]).
• Runs Apify’s Google Sheets Export: It uses Apify’s sheets-sync / tidyrun Actor to write the dataset, updating matching rows and appending new ones in upsert mode.
• Outputs an export summary: The workflow returns the target sheet link and counts of appended, updated, and unchanged rows, including whether the export stopped due to an Apify charge limit.

Use cases

• Keep a SaaS-facing leads list in Google Sheets updated from a recurring Apify scraper (dedupe via upsert keyColumns).
• Maintain product catalogs or listing datasets, refreshing rows when an item is re-crawled.

Technical details

• Google Sheets access (no OAuth in n8n): Share the sheet with sheets-sync-bot@sheets-sync-prod-511105.iam.gserviceaccount.com as Editor.
• Apify integration: Requires an Apify API token credential in n8n (and the verified @apify/n8n-nodes-apify node for self-hosted n8n).
• Nodes used: apifyn8n-nodes-apify (Apify trigger and export execution) plus Manual Trigger and configuration helpers (e.g., set, sticky note).
