This n8n workflow checks whether a Belgian company’s VAT number is valid in VIES and whether the participant appears in the Peppol Directory—so you can confidently confirm e‑invoice reachability for BE entities.

What this workflow does

• Accepts input via an n8n form: a Belgian VAT or company number (and an optional email field).
• Normalizes and validates the number: converts the input to a 10-digit Belgian number, formats it, and verifies it using a mod 97 checksum.
• Checks official VAT status in VIES using the EU VIES REST API to confirm the VAT is active and to retrieve the registered company name and address.
• Searches the Peppol Directory for the participant under Belgian schemes:
  • 0208 (Belgian enterprise number scheme)
  • 9925 (Belgian VAT scheme)
• Creates a single verdict combining the checksum result, VIES status, and Peppol matches.
• Fills missing details: when VIES does not return name details, the workflow uses Peppol results to complete what it can.
• Shows a completion page in the form with the formatted number, VAT validity, Peppol status, address, and a clear recommendation.
