Validate and normalize product feeds with ContentSweep (inside n8n)
This n8n workflow manually submits your CSV product feed to the ContentSweep Feeds API, validates it against a target JSON schema and mapping rules, runs a normalization job, and downloads the resulting normalized JSONL output when the validation verdict passes.
What this workflow does
- Starts on demand via a manual trigger.
- Loads your ContentSweep configuration, including the CSV feed content, target schema, mapping rules, contract rules, and an operator-approval flag.
- If operator approval is enabled, uploads the CSV and requests a preview against the provided target schema.
- Creates a ContentSweep profile using the mapping and contract rules, then approves the profile using the returned profile hash.
- Requests a quote and—when compatible—starts a ContentSweep job using the quote ID and an idempotency key.
- Polls job status every 5 seconds (up to 60 checks) until the job completes or fails.
- When complete, fetches the validation report and downloads the normalized JSONL file only after the verdict is passed.
Use cases
- Normalize and standardize product catalogs before loading them into downstream systems.
- Preflight-check feed compatibility by validating CSV content against a target JSON schema.
- Run a controlled import pipeline where an operator can approve the profile before jobs execute.
Technical details
- ContentSweep API integration via HTTP Request, authenticated using header name X-API-Key.
- Uses n8n nodes: manual trigger, set, if, wait, http request, and supporting sticky note.
- Includes configurable placeholders in the Config step (e.g., approved/rejected IDs, import key, email) plus your dataset’s CSV feed, schema, mapping, and contract rules.
Build cleaner product feed automation in n8n with ContentSweep validation and normalization—reliable, schema-driven, and output-ready.
