Turn voice requests into Gmail + Google Calendar actions—using Claude

This n8n workflow provides a secure webhook for an ElevenLabs voice agent. When someone speaks, it sends the request to Anthropic Claude, lets Claude use Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts tools to handle the task, and returns a clean, speech-friendly response for text-to-speech.

What this workflow does

• Receives voice agent webhooks: Accepts a POST request from ElevenLabs containing a spoken-text query and a conversation_id.
• Validates access (optional): Checks an x-api-key shared secret and returns 401 if unauthorized.
• Normalizes and validates input: Trims the query, extracts a session ID from the ElevenLabs conversation, and creates a localized “now” timestamp; returns 400 if the query is empty.
• Runs Claude with tool access: Sends the user request to an Anthropic Claude agent with conversation memory so Claude can:
  • Search emails and draft/reply/send messages via Gmail
  • Create, update, find, and delete Google Calendar events
  • Look up or save Google Contacts
• Prepares a voice-ready answer: Cleans the assistant output by removing markdown, URLs, and excess whitespace.
• Responds to ElevenLabs: Returns a JSON payload containing the final spoken response.

Use cases

• “Email Alex about tomorrow’s meeting” → draft and send via Gmail
• “Schedule a call next Tuesday at 3pm” → create/update a Google Calendar event
• “Who’s my contact for Jamie Chen?” → search and return matching Google Contacts
• “What did I last email about Project X?” → search inbox and summarize for voice

Technical details

• n8n nodes: Webhook, if, set, gmail tool, sticky note, and n8nn8n-nodes-langchainagent (LangChain agent wrapper)
• Tool integrations: Anthropic Claude, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts
• Configuration: Set calendar_id, timezone, owner_name, and optional shared_secret to match the x-api-key header
