This n8n workflow reads student performance data from Google Sheets every Friday, generates a warm parent-ready narrative using OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini), converts it to a PDF with PDFShift, and sends both PDF and performance updates to parents through Gmail and Telegram. It also logs sends back to Google Sheets, alerts teachers about urgent cases, and notifies your Slack channel if anything fails.

What this workflow does

• Runs weekly: scheduled for Friday at 18:00 UTC.
• Pulls student metrics: fetches all rows from a Google Sheets “Students” worksheet.
• Calculates progress: computes attendance, average test score, and homework completion percentages, then flags students below configured thresholds (including urgent criteria).
• Generates a parent narrative: uses OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini) to produce a personalized, parent-friendly report using each student’s metrics and any red flags.
• Creates a PDF report: injects the narrative into an HTML template and converts it to PDF via the PDFShift API.
• Sends updates: emails the PDF to each parent via Gmail, and posts a brief performance summary to parents via Telegram.
• Escalates urgent concerns: if urgent criteria are met, sends an additional high-priority Telegram alert with the specific concerns and posts a consolidated urgent summary to the teacher via Telegram.
• Audits delivery: appends a row to Google Sheets “Send Logs” for each student.
• Error handling: on workflow errors, posts an alert to a Slack channel via the workflow error trigger.
